Fall Trend Breakdown: Peplum Silhouettes

We’re here breaking down our favourite fall 2024 trends! A series where we dive into how we’re styling the biggest fashion trends for this upcoming season.

Let's talk peplum tops. I’m sure we all remember how these tops were all the rage back in the2010’s. We see so many fashion trends come and go, and this one definitely had its moment back in the 2010’s and we’re here to let you know that these adorable tops have made a comeback! 

We’re seeing this silhouette in new and inventive ways including tie front cotton blouses, flowy tanks, along with fitted lightweight knit style tops. We’re really leaning into this feminine silhouette.

When trends from previous years make inevitable comebacks, it can feel intimidating to incorporate it in a new way into your wardrobe again. You may feel as though you don't want to revisit a trend that you have already partaken in; however, with a fresh new silhouette and new ways to style these pieces, it's always worth it to try!

Here are some ways we’re adding peplum tops back into our autumn wardrobes:

Simply paired with a dark wash denim and a ballet flat. This is the perfect way to keep an outfit classic yet simple for an everyday look. Throw a blazer on top for an extra layer of comfort if needed.

Style a peplum knit tank with a leather trouser, a burgundy slingback, and a little black handbag to tie it all together. This look is effortless, yet perfect for a night out with the girls.

For a more elevated look we loved pairing a peplum knit top with a maxi satin slip skirt and a patent kitten heel. The silhouette that this look creates is so stunning and flattering.
