My calendar somehow has filled up with an array of events for the holidays and I'm sure I'm not alone in this! It's finally that time of year when the days start flying by before our eyes. Your weekends are no longer for relaxing, your to-do lists feel never ending, and your wardrobe needs revamping for all of your events on the horizon.
I am on the hunt for a couple of outfits for events I have planned in the upcoming months. A couple holiday parties, a fancy night out planned, and of course, family dinners. I’m here to share with you my thought process when choosing my holiday outfits for specific occasions!
Something that I want to accomplish this year with my holiday attire is versatility. For example, a fitted black blazer to go over a stunning dress and to double as a layering piece over a knit, or a sweater skirt to pair with an elevated blouse and kitten heel for a night out or with a chunky knit and a boot for a cozy winter look.
Finding multiple uses out of pieces will not only make getting ready that much easier, but you'll also get so much more wear out of your holiday wardrobe.
Holiday party:
This is the moment to stand out! Wear that dress that sparkles and shines. Don't be afraid to embrace colour and texture at an event like this. The Audrey fitted sequin maxi with a blazer and a kitten heel would be such an eye catching look that would be sure to turn heads! Opting for that pop of colour with a satin red long sleeve would also be stunning for a holiday party.
Night out:
Night out plans call for an elevated yet comfy look. I want to enjoy a delicious meal while still feeling my best. So, I'm thinking a tailored skirt (my go-to), a more fitted style of knit and an oversized blazer to bring the whole look together. My favourite shoe to wear on a winter night out is usually a boot. Especially if you don't want to wear a thicker coat, the boots add a nice little bit of warmth!
Family dinner:
My go-to for a family holiday dinner is something cozy because I know I'll be ending up on the couch wanting to be as comfy as possible. This year, I'm opting for a pair of darker wash denim with a lower cotton percentage and higher stretch content. Pairing this with a red sweater will be the epitome of holiday comfort.
We know Holiday attire shopping can feel intimidating but take this opportunity to embrace those gorgeous rich hues of the season and let yourself sparkle in pieces that make you feel your very best.
